CIRDIC

Situated just off Berkeley Avenue, Reading (turn at the Esso filling station) CIRDIC has existed since 1990 to serve some of the most disadvantaged people in the local community.
Fully open on three days per week (limited service on other days) CIRDIC asks no questions of its guests but provides the following services all free: main meals (about 60 per day) as well as soup, sandwiches, tea and coffee (from a kitchen that holds a five-star hygiene rating from Reading Borough Council), a safe mail address, telephone for emergencies, clothing, baths and showers and a listening ear. Guests include homeless people, some with mental health and physical problems, many who are in poor or temporary accommodation and some who are simply lonely.
The Rotary Club of Reading is a long-term supporter, providing gifts of finance, clothing and practical help to CIRDIC
